Timber Front Doors

Bespoke Timber Front Doors Built for Security and Style

Bespoke timber front doors designed with the same care and precision we bring to every detail of our joinery. Each door is built from sustainable timber, engineered for strength and stability, and built for long-lasting performance.

Whether you’re restoring a period home or designing something new, our timber front doors bring authenticity, comfort, and quiet confidence to your entrance – made to measure and built to last.

Heritage & Period Door History

Timber front doors have defined London streets and English homes for centuries. From Georgian six-panel doors to Victorian designs with stained glass, each era introduced distinct mouldings, panels and proportions.

We specialise in replicating these details so your replacement door looks authentic while performing to modern standards. For a deeper dive into the history of traditional joinery, visit our blog on heritage door design.

Door Designs

Choose from our core design set or ask us to match your existing door. We supply drawings for panelled, part-glazed and fully glazed options, with side lights or fanlights if required. Every door is made to measure to suit your property’s proportions and architecture.

Matching Timber Front Doors for Conservation Areas

We design and manufacture timber front doors for period homes within conservation areas across London and the Home Counties.
Each door is individually made to preserve the architectural character of the property while discreetly integrating modern performance.

Our workshop can replicate original panel layouts, mouldings, and glazing details, ensuring your new timber front door complements the façade with complete authenticity.
Working from photographs, precise site measurements, or the existing door itself, we produce a faithful reproduction that satisfies local planning and conservation requirements.

For homes under an Article 4 Direction, we can prepare heritage drawings and specifications to accompany planning submissions.

Where a traditional single-glazed look is required, we offer vacuum glazing that retains period proportions while providing outstanding thermal efficiency.

Authentic Door Mouldings

Our timber front doors feature authentic joinery details that reflect traditional British design. From classic ovolo mouldings with soft curved edges to bold bolection mouldings that project beyond the panel face, each profile adds depth and character.

The bolection moulding dates back to the late 17th century and became a hallmark of Georgian architecture –  used to frame raised panels and create elegant shadow lines. Today, we continue that tradition using precision-machined timber sections, ensuring every moulding looks refined, proportionally correct, and true to the era of your home.

Security

Security is built into every timber front door. We fit Winkhaus multipoint locks and ISEO cylinders as standard, with the option of Secured by Design (SBD) hardware packages. Upgrades include laminated glass, hinge bolts, and reinforced keeps for enhanced resistance.

Glass Options

Select the ideal glazing for your timber front door –  from high-performance double glazing to vacuum glazing for slim sightlines and improved insulation. For acoustic comfort, we offer laminated and noise-control glass, ensuring your home stays peaceful and secure.

Decorative choices include stained, reeded, and satin glass, all available with optional clear-edge borders for a refined, bespoke look. We can also incorporate numerals or motifs within fanlights, preserving period character while adding personal detail.

Paint Colour Options

All doors are factory-finished with a Teknos four-coat microporous paint system, ensuring exceptional durability and low maintenance. Choose any RAL colour, or match Farrow & Ball and Little Greene palettes.

Dual colour finishes are available for a bold exterior and softer interior look — ideal for properties that mix traditional façades with modern interiors.

Key Features of Our Timber Front Doors

Stained and Leaded Glass with Modern Performance

We partner with an established stained-glass studio to restore or recreate designs that reflect the character of your property while meeting current energy standards.

Original or newly commissioned leaded glass panels can be encapsulated within double- or vacuum-glazed units, allowing you to retain the heritage appearance while achieving Building Regulation U-values. This means your door can include authentic stained or patterned glass without compromising thermal performance or acoustic control.

Each panel is handmade using traditional leading and cutting techniques, then integrated into precision-built insulated units for long-term durability. Whether you’re preserving existing glass or designing something entirely new, we ensure every detail meets both aesthetic and technical standards required for modern homes and conservation properties.
