What Are Microporous Paints?

Microporous paints use a resin system, which results in a flexible, durable and breathable finish. The flexible finish allows the timber on your windows and doors to move naturally whilst minimising cracking and peeling associated with usual coatings.

Microporous paints use a resin system, which results in a flexible, durable and breathable finish. The flexible finish allows the timber on your windows and doors to move naturally whilst minimising cracking and peeling associated with usual coatings.

These coatings provide a bacterial, mould, and UV resistant finish to ensure a healthy lifespan and long-lasting finish. Microporous paints are also water-based, which means that it’s actually quicker to paint with, keeping the quality high and costs low.

By using water based paints rather than oil based paints we are reducing the solvent emissions into the atmosphere. Oil based paints are not as hard wearing as modern water based acrylic paints and no longer permitted in manufacturing of new products.

All our new timber windows and doors are sprayed to an exceptional standard with four coats of water based TEKNOS paint coating systems. This four stage process consists of:

Two Shades Of Colour?

We also offer a dual colour service whereby you choose one colour for the outside of your windows or doors and another colour for the inside. This is a great option if you want a traditional or contemporary colour on the outside of your windows or doors but still want a neutral white on the inside.

More Than Just A Splash Of Colour

Our standard paint colour is white RAL 9016 but if you would prefer a different colour for your windows or doors, then we offer CLASSIC RAL colours.

These include tones complimenting Farrow & Ball™ and Little Greene™. Available in a Variety of Finishes, Including Gloss and Semi-Matt.

If you prefer a more natural looking affect to your timber then why not have a look though the TEKNOS translucent stain range?

These stains add colour to the timber and allows the natural character, grain and beauty to show through. Remember to consider the grain of the timber when choosing as timbers differ in colour and texture which will change the finished look of the stain.
